2001 NLDS: Cardinals defeat D-Backs

The Diamondbacks will not be the 2001 World Champs, not this time at least.

In one of the craziest Strat-O-Matic games I’ve ever played, the St. Louis Cardinals have defeated the (in-real-life) 2001 World Champion Arizona Diamondbacks in the first round of the National League Playoffs.

There were 6 lead changes, a total of 36 runs, 31 hits, 13 home runs, 11 pitchers, and a two-out, bottom of the 9th 3-run walk-off home run from Mark McGwire to cap a come from behind win for the Cardinals that decided their Division Series against the Diamondbacks 3 games to 1.
