Thursday Morning Click-Thru: 3/1/12

  • Jerry Seinfeld once famously quipped that “players change teams, teams change cities…when it comes down to it, we’re all just rooting for laundry.” Nobody roots for laundry better than Uni Watch.
  • If you’re looking for a Strat-O-Matic forum with great replays, little drama, and that offers a place to sell or trade items on the secondary market, you might want to give Stratomatic Baseball Village a shot.
One feature that I really enjoy over at the Village is the “Topic of the Month” in the “Around the Horn” section of the forum. This month, forum member J.Q. wrote a wistful essay on the topic of Strat-O-Matic called “For Love of the Game.” It’s very nice, you should read it.
  • My heart skipped a beat when I found “A Beautiful Numbers Game” last week. A soccer blog about soccer statistics? Yes, please! It’s a terrific blog, two years old and full of blogger Zach Slayton’s statistical analyses and musings on the game. That Zach is a fellow Sounders FC supporter makes me like him even more.
  • Holy cow!  Harry Caray would’ve been 99 years old today.
  • From the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame’s website today, a profile of Effa Manley, first woman elected to the hall.
