1969 Mets What If C&D Replay: The Reggie Project!

THE REGGIE! PROJECT: 1969 Prologue: The Reggie! Project is my multi-season project, wherein I’m playing full season (single-team) replays from different stages of Reggie Jackson’s career. I’ve completed Reggie’s 1977 Yankees season and his 1982 California Angels season. In the coming months I’ll be posting results of Reggie’s 1969 season. Though the ’77 and ’82 seasons were recreated using mostly as-played lineups for all teams, the 1969 season will be different. In this season, Reggie will be the starting right fielder for the 1969 New York “Miracle” Mets.   PART 1: THE DRAFT The New York Mets had a choice … Continue reading

1982 California Angels Update Through August 19

This California Angels replay is a part of a larger project, replaying seasons from various eras of Reggie Jackson‘s career. I call this collection of replays “The Reggie! Project.” 1977 New York Yankees 1982 California Angels 1973 Oakland A’s 1969 New York Mets Obviously, Reggie Jackson never played for the New York Mets, but the 1969 replay will be a “What If” project, asking the question: What if the Mets had drafted Reggie Jackson intead of Steve Chilcott in 1966? The 1977 Yankees replay began in early 2013 and was completed on Christmas Day, 2013. Reggie’s stats from that season: … Continue reading

1982 California Angels – The Halfway Point

If we are painstaking about this phase of our development, we will be amazed before we are halfway through. We will know a new freedom and a new happiness. We will comprehend the word serenity and we will know peace. We will not regret the past nor wish to shut the door on it. No matter how far down the scale we have gone, we will see how our experience can benefit others. That feeling of uselessness and self pity will disappear. We will lose interest in selfish things and gain interest in our fellows. Self-seeking will slip away. Our … Continue reading

What I Did On My Summer Vacation

Though I didn’t come around here much over the summer, those months were not devoid of Tabletop-Sports gaming. Quite the contrary, in fact. I have a full-time job*, I have two young daughters, a wife (woo-hoo!), and all the attendant demands on my time that come with all these responsibilities. Fortunately, I do manage to find time to either roll a game or work on this blog nearly every night. However, most of the time it’s one or the other – rarely both. * “What?!” you exclaim. No, it’s true. I don’t play these games or write about them for a … Continue reading
