Brek Shea – Turning It Around

Though it seems like it was a different lifetime, it actually wasn’t long ago that Brek Shea was a finalist for MLS MVP. After a couple of disappointing years abroad, is Orlando City the place where he turns things around? Shea was a beast in my 2010 MLS mini-season with APBA Soccer. APBA Soccer: 2010 MLS Final Standings

It was just a mini-season (8 teams, 7 games each), but my 2010 MLS replay was great fun and a great introduction to APBA Soccer. Below is the final table at completion of the project. Real Salt Lake won the Supporter’s Shield, going undefeated, with 17 points and the greatest goal differential in the league.  Nick Rimando was terrific and the one-two punch of Saborio and Javier Morales combined for 11 goals in 7 games. as always, click on the scorecard to see a full size version 2010 MLS GAME 19: SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES v. NEW YORK RED BULLS MATCH ANALYSIS: I haven’t kept a running tally of goalkeeper stats, but I have to believe that when I go back and count them all up, Jon Busch will emerge as one of the top keepers in the MLS this year. He single-handedly kept the Earthquakes in this game, stopping 11 shots on goal, including 6 in a row in an 11 minute period early in the match.
