From The APBA Journal “Letters to the Editor,” July 31, 1996 issue. (h/t to Vince Crystal at the APBA Games Facebook page for bringing this to my attention) ____________________________ APBA Soccer? After seeing the release of APBA’s new boxing game, I began to wonder if they had plans for a soccer game. Actually, I have been thinking of this game for a number of weeks before the boxing release, but have become even more curious of late. I mean, if they think there is any sort of market for a boxing game, I don’t understand why they would not consider … Continue reading
On the Downloads page of the APBA website this morning, APBA has released a free download of APBA Soccer cards for the two finalists competing in the 2014 MLS Cup. The real-life version of the MLS Cup will be held this weekend in Los Angeles. With these cards, APBA Soccer fans can “pre-play” the final. The match features MLS MVP Finalists Robbie Keane of the LA Galaxy and Lee Nguyen of the New England Revolution. To add to the drama, US National Team star (arguably the greatest American soccer player ever) and LA Galaxy attacking midfielder Landon Donovan has announced … Continue reading

The following is a video of me opening a box from APBA Games. In the box is a couple of APBA Soccer sets (2013 MLS and 2013-14 EPL). You get to see a Clint Dempsey Seattle Sounders card (he’s rated A for Corner Kicks!), and a Luis Suarez Liverpool card. Since filming this I’ve had the opportunity to look over both sets a little and I am now even more excited to get started playing games with them. Look for specifics on how some players are carded in a future post.
Click on the table below to see it at full size. The table as of 4/2/2012: The Seattle Sounders are 3-0-0 after defeating the San Jose Earthquakes by a score of 2-1. Here are the parameters of this replay: * It’s a full replay of all 34 weeks of the 2012 MLS Season, using the real life schedule. * All Seattle Sounders games will be played with Classic Soccer * Each week at least 1 game will be played with each of the following … Continue reading
