What I Did On My Summer Vacation

Though I didn’t come around here much over the summer, those months were not devoid of Tabletop-Sports gaming. Quite the contrary, in fact. I have a full-time job*, I have two young daughters, a wife (woo-hoo!), and all the attendant demands on my time that come with all these responsibilities. Fortunately, I do manage to find time to either roll a game or work on this blog nearly every night. However, most of the time it’s one or the other – rarely both. * “What?!” you exclaim. No, it’s true. I don’t play these games or write about them for a … Continue reading

#SE4TTLE

There is a ton of great soccer stuff going on today – not the least of which is the #SE4TTLE Sounders’ run at a 4th US Open Cup Championship in the final today at Livestrong Park versus Sporting Kansas City. It’s their attempt at an historic feat. I was there last year at the final. That feeling when Osvaldo Alonso scored in the 87th minute to seal the victory might be my favorite moment of sports-related elation in my life. I’ve posted this before, but here is the video I took with my cell phone from my seat in the … Continue reading

MLS 2012 First Kick: Predictions

OneForFive.com’s 2012 MLS Predictions: Supporter’s Shield:  Sporting KC I might be alone in this pick, but with the new unbalanced schedule, Sporting KC has a chance to jump out to a huge lead in points this season and never look back.  By the time Cinco de Mayo rolls around, SKC will have already played Montreal, Vancouver, Chivas USA, Portland, and New England.  They will have to compete against FC Dallas, Real Salt Lake and LA Galaxy in that time, too, but all three of those matches are at home.  There is a very real chance that Sporting can go into … Continue reading

FIFA 12 – MLS 2012 Simulation

This site is not about sports analysis and pontification, per se, but like any dedicated fan, I have my opinions on the upcoming season of Major League Soccer. And, like any dedicated fan, I tend to believe that my opinions are better than most. This site is, however, about sports simulations and pontifications on such, which is why when I came across this article on MajorLeagueSoccer.com this morning I was intrigued. According to simulations run on EA Sports’ FIFA 12 video game, the LA Galaxy are poised to win the MLS Supporter’s Shield in 2012. First, a point worthy of … Continue reading
