THE REGGIE! PROJECT: 1969 Prologue: The Reggie! Project is my multi-season project, wherein I’m playing full season (single-team) replays from different stages of Reggie Jackson’s career. I’ve completed Reggie’s 1977 Yankees season and his 1982 California Angels season. In the coming months I’ll be posting results of Reggie’s 1969 season. Though the ’77 and ’82 seasons were recreated using mostly as-played lineups for all teams, the 1969 season will be different. I finished up a card & dice replay of the 1977 New York Yankees with Strat-O-Matic baseball a little over a month ago. In the meantime, I’ve been tabulating the stats for that project, as well as playing some soccer and a little football here and there, too. In Memoriam: Paul Blair – centerfielder

I finished my 1977 New York Yankees C & D (Strat-O-Matic) replay yesterday. As the season progressed, I became a fan of the aging Paul Blair as time and again he flashed legendary glovework (in his career he won 8 Gold Gloves), while working as a late-inning replacement for Reggie Jackson and as a spot starter in center and right throughout the season. Paul Blair passed away today at the age of 69. Blair was a member of four World Series Champions (1966 & 1970 Baltimore Orioles, 1977 & 1978 New York Yankees).
