These are the projects I’m currently working on, or planning to start within the next month:

As I review this list, it occurs to me that I really want to try some other sports besides baseball and soccer.  I would love a great football game.  I might give APBA Football a shot.

What other games am I missing out on?

  1. APBA golf can be fun…..

  2. Thanks for the comment, Mark. APBA Golf does look like a fun game. I don’t follow golf very closely, so I don’t know too much about anyone beyond the top 5-10 guys, but I imagine it could still be fun.

I do have a copy of Legends of Boxing that I’ve been meaning to play for awhile, too. That will probably be my first foray outside of the baseball/soccer realm.

How about Strat-o-Matic basketball? Any Strat b-ball players out there? I’d like to replay the 88-89 Lakers someday, but I don’t know if I’ll even like the game. There doesn’t seem to be much about it in the blogosphere.

  3. Not sure if you like hockey or not, but Strat-O hockey is pretty damn good. Captures the rhythm of the play beautifully, as long as you stick to the basic or advanced version and simplify the power plays.

  4. I’ve actually thought about the hockey game, mainly because I don’t know anything about hockey and I think it might be a fun way to learn about the game. I imagine I will try it out someday in the future, but football or basketball will probably come first.

  5. I would very strongly recommend Second Season Football and Replay Basketball

  6. Pingback: England vs. Germany, 1915 | One for Five

  7. Second and Ten (SAT) football is the best football computer game out there and a great value for the dollar with every pro season (and/or many college seasons) available with purchase of the game. I strongly recommend it – I believe there is a free trial also.
