Free APBA Baseball Cards: 1933 All Star Game Starting Lineups

I’m really starting to look forward to the almost-weekly APBA Newsletter (click here for the July 6 edition) that has been arriving in my email.

Since the company started sending these weekly updates, each newsletter has had some bit of interesting news, updates on current projects (BBW 5.75, for instance), release dates for products, and, in a few different cases, free downloads of cards.

APBA has made the 1933 All Star Game starting lineups available for free download, including this beautiful Babe Ruth card.

First, there were the UEFA Champions League Finalist cards, then there were Hockey cards for the 2012 NHL finalists, and then just today, in honor of Tuesday’s coming All Star Game, the company released cards for the starting lineups of the Inaugural MLB All Star Game, held in Comiskey Park, Chicago, July 6, 1933.

I downloaded the cards and played the game tonight. Please excuse my crummy cell-phone camera snapshot of the scorecard, but I wanted to share it, since the game was a thriller.

The game was knotted at 6 after nine innings, and ended up lasting 11. Babe Ruth’s 2-run walk-off home run won it for the American League. All in all, I had a great time playing this game tonight and my fondness for the APBA baseball game is growing daily. Well done, APBA Game Co. Thanks for the free cards!
