I’ve never been lucky enough to roll a no-hitter or a perfect game in a Strat-o-Matic game. I’m hoping to see a Koufax gem in my 1965 replay, but not holding my breath over it. To see one in person would be a bit of a dream-come-true.
My friend Brad, with whom I used to play ball back on the old Oahu Ravens, posted this on his facebook status today:
I saw another friend of mine early this morning and he mentioned that he would be going to today’s Mariners game against the Chicago White Sox, too.
The promotion today was “Salute to Armed Forces” and according to the Mariners’ website:
Fans in attendance will receive a special commemorative military coin courtesy of the Mariners & Boeing at the conclusion of the game. (limit 20,000)
We joked that there wouldn’t be 10,000 people left in the stadium by the time the game ended.
Something tells me that most of today’s 22,472 in attendance stayed to the end.
Here’s a pic from Brad’s seat:
I spent the day with my family. The sky is blue, the air has that crisp Pacific Northwest bite. Melissa and I had lunch outside in lovely downtown Poulsbo. It really has been the perfect day.
