Haven’t done one of these in, oh… about 13 months! Here are a few items of note that I liked around the internet today.
- If you have any interest in 19th Century baseball and/or just love vintage baseball photos (and who doesn’t?!), read this terrific Slate piece and then click on through to the The New York Public Library’s Rare Photographs of Baseball’s Beginnings Digital Gallery.
- When Roger Angell speaks, we listen. In this morning’s New Yorker, Angell gives us 500 words on last night’s World Series game 1.
- Last Sunday, Kenneth Heard, author of one of my favorite tabletop-sports-related blogs, Love, Life and APBA Baseball, wrote a piece about high-fiving at sports events. I love the high-five. I will high-five anyone any chance I get. I’m also not against hugging total strangers when great moments happen for my team. I’m that guy.
